300 (Zack Snyder)
Another commercial rubbish. Good for those who bring only eyes with them to the cinema and are used to turn off their brains if they have any. It is very surprising, and scaring, by the way, that the film was very commercially successful. Don't people see, understand, what they are offered? Is there so many idiots in the world?
In other words, this film doesn't correspond to my ideas of what cinema is. Sounds of torn flesh, overmuscled men, computer graffic effects are not the things that attract me very much. And after watching three movies by Werner Herzog one by one this absense of natural landscapes seemed a kind of underdevelopment for me.
The movie is very much alike a parody on itself. Theatric speeches leave quite a disgusting impression. King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) is simply funny and absurd. Only Queen Gorgo (Lena Headey) seems to have some sense but the accent is put primarily on her body than on her talent as an actress.
Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) is very funny as well. He looked so offended, rounded His painted eyes so touchingly, When Leonidas spear wounded HIM bit That It made me laugh.
Never again.
